Ancient Thira, is an ancient city built on the top of Mesa Vouno mountain. It is named after the King Thiras, the ruler of the island . The city was inhabited from 900 B.C. until 726 A.D. The site is open to visitors daily ( except Mondays ) from 09:00 to 15:00.

Can be reached on foot from Perissa, or by vehicle from Kamari
